What is ACP?

Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP) is a form of PRP that typically includes a series of three injections. It is a quick and easy treatment that can be used for the widest range of orthopedic needs and is usually appropriate for arthritis and joint pain.

Everyone’s blood is made up of four major factors which include red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. ACP relies on platelets to aid in the healing of chronic injuries and pain relief. They are mostly known for controlling bleeding and release over 1500 growth factors that contribute to wound healing and tissue repair. ACP works by separating the platelets from other components in your blood and injecting them into the area of injury. This will jumpstart the body’s own healing process and reduce inflammation and pain.

What to expect during your appts:

During each appointment, our patients will be placed in an intimate setting with our Injecting Physician and Clinical Coordinator. With this setting, we can build a trusting relationship to ensure our patients have the best experience and service possible.

“I don’t have any of the radicular pain that I had in the past.”

What is the injection process like?

Patients will have their first consultation with one of our networked surgeons to determine if this all-natural therapy is right for them. Upon determination that the patient is a right fit, we move forward with the injection process.

To start, the injecting physician will perform a blood draw of only 15 ccs which equals half an ounce. This will be like every other routine blood draw you’ve experienced. We use a unique double syringe, specifically designed for this process, to create a safe and closed system.

We will then place the patient’s blood in a centrifuge and spin for five minutes at 1500 rpms. This rapid process isolates the plasma, which contains the platelets and growth factors, from the other blood components. The separated platelets will then be injected into the area of injury under ultrasound guidance.
